What are Student-Led Conferences?
A student-led conference is one during which the student is responsible for leading the conference and presenting their progress to their parents/guardians/significant adults. They lead a discussion of their academic accomplishments, future goals and interests. They use work samples and data to guide their discussion. Of course, this would look much different in kindergarten than it does in grades 6-8.
Why the Change?
*The Bremerton School District cannot count the conference days as school days if any group (or portion) of students is excluded. So, if we said, West Hills’ K-5 students don’t need to come to school, the District cannot count it as a school day.
