Elementary and KinderPrep Staff News- April 22, 2018

Have you ever had a week that felt both twice as long and twice as fast as a normal week, all in the same five days? Last week felt a bit like that for me. Between testing, prep for end of year and summer, interviewing new MCA families (praise the Lord!), and more, I feel a bit like I'm spinning in circles, as many of you also do on occasion. So that brings me to the fact that it's nearly 10:30 on a Sunday evening, and I'm just now completing our staff newsletter. I apologize if you have been waiting on pins and needles for the enclosed information ;-), but it has been a busy family weekend. While there is always much to do for school, I also want to model for you that sometimes we just need to take a time-out for family and the other ministries in which God uses us.

It's spring. It's a super-busy time, and a lot of us feel like we are firing on all cylinders and it's easy to get exhausted. My message for this week is simple- when life feels like a whirlwind, look for the "unforced rhythms of grace". I am so thankful for rest in my Jesus when life seems to accelerate!

Matthew 11:28-30 The Message (MSG)

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Quick notes!

  • Author Visit- We have a special opportunity for Christian children's author Ronda Friend to visit us on Monday, April 30th at 1:30 in the gym. She will be presenting to our PreK-6th graders, and families are invited. Your students may be bringing in pre-order forms for signed copies of her books- please keep note of who brings in money/order forms and then send the orders to the office.
  • Collaboration- We will meet for collaboration teams this week.
  • Enrollment Reminders- Please let me know when you hear back from our un-enrolled families so we can continue to follow up with them as needed! We want to make sure they know they are loved and we want them to continue to be a part of our MCA family!
