Dr. Nikki Roorda provided the board with an update regarding the spring ISASP testing, including the number of students district-wide who took the test, subjects tested, how results are used, and then how parents can access and analyze results.
  • In-Person testing took place April 19-May 14; At-home/Remote Digital Dragons occurred May 17 – May 28
  • 4,556 students took the test in person; 417 took the test at home.
  • Students in grades 3-11 take Math and English Language Arts; Grades 5, 8, and 10 also complete Science tests
  • It is intended to provide helpful information on areas in which students are performing well and areas in which they may need additional support.
  • The district can use this information to help identify areas where there may be potential holes in our curricular scope/sequence, areas where we may need to add curricular resources or supports for our teachers and/or students, and identify areas of professional learning to enhance the instructional strategies used in our classrooms.
  • By August 2021, parents will be able to log on to the new ISASP parent portal to view student test outcomes. The portal will allow for year-over-year viewing of individual student results.

There will be limited seating in the District Office board room, in a distanced and safe seating style. Seat availability is first come, first seated. All public comments must be read in person and will no longer be accepted electronically. The board meetings are livestreamed and available on demand at https://team1sports.com/johnston/.
