Elves on the Shelves

The holiday season brings those mischievous elves back to the library. Thanks to Jennifer and Mrs. McGann for helping decorate the library.

Young Adult Author Says Reading Saves Lives

James Patterson, author of the popular Maximum Ride series and many other young adult and adult novels says, "if kids don't read, they're going to have a hard time getting through high school. Falling behind in school can also mean falling behind in life." Patterson is partnering with parents, teachers, librarians, publishers, and others to help save lives. He says, "there's no such thing as a kid who hates reading. There are just kids who love reading, and kids who are reading the wrong books. We need to help them find the right books." For more information about reading promotions, visit this website, Read Kiddo Read. In January, our Seventh Grade Book Club will read a favorite Patterson book, Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment.
