April 18, 1942 U.S air raided Tokyo and Honshu island during world war 2. This was the first attack on Japan and was a retaliation on Japanese for pearl harbor. Colonel James Doolittle presented a daring and unorthodox plan to his superiors. They were going to bomb many little cities. as Tokyo , Kobe, Osaka , and Nagoya were being bombed many people blow were cheering because they thought it was Japanese planes not u.s planes.
