CELEBRATE 7th CAREER FAIR

Parent Conferences & Dates: Dec 20 & 21 release time is special - 12pm. The bell schedule is in your handbook and on our website.
Important Info Upon Return: Semester 2 begins Jan 7. Jan 7 is an A day and a minimum day. Long advisory will be Jan 8, 9 and 11 for the purpose of building relationships, team building and revisiting processes and procedures. January 10 is Lit Assessment - special schedule is in your calendar. Enrich/Intervention begins Mon Jan 14. You will be provided information about where your Advisory students go Mon Jan 14. Please do not give students information you see in IC before enrichment starts.
Multicultural Fair Teacher Info: Performance forms should be turned into Advisory teachers and then to Edwards by Fri Jan 11. A hard copy of the form was placed in your box and is on our website. Event details and additional information below.
Pirate Lighthouse Advisory Chalk Squares: WHO has Advisory spirit? Show Advisory class spirit and sign up for a time slot in Jan to decorate campus squares with chalk and your students. First come, first serve. Details: you may use a max of two adjacent squares in the space provided between the MS and science buildings (it will be marked for you). Chalk squares should include Advisory class name, mission statement, and any other artistic contributions your students want to include. Times slots are roughly 20 minutes long. Pirate Lighthouse will deliver chalk to the first Advisory class signed up for each day -- please pass the chalk along to the next class and it will be picked up later that day (enrichment or after school). This is optional and just for fun, but a great way to team build. Here is the link to the sign ups.
Bhangra Bash: NP3 HS's Punjabi Club is hosting a Bhangra Bash Feb 22 6-8:30pm. This is a community event and all of their proceeds will be donated to Bipshi. They are also in need of chaperones. If you would like to help, email Taniia. This will be counted as part of your semester 2 duty hours.
Advisory Trash Pick-Up: None this week.

- Wellness Wednesday: Save the date for our very 1st Annual K-12 Wellness Fair! We would love to see you there! The event is Wed Jan 30 from 5:30-7:30 in the NP3 MS/HS Gym and is an opportunity to learn a wealth of information with your community. We are excited to provide information shared by health professionals, community members, educators, senior students. The evening will include both booths and breakout sessions related to health and supporting your student. Some of the topics include cyber bullying & technology use, suicide awareness and prevention, car and water safety, healthy eating, mindfulness and more! - Women's March 2019: We believe that the single most powerful act we can do is prepare young people with the skills and commitments to take action around causes that matter to them with courage, compassion and collaboration. Join us by marching and supporting our diverse community in the 2019 Women's March at the State Capitol. There will be an information meeting in Ms. Silas' room at lunch open to all students and grade levels on Wednesday January 9th. Permission forms are due Monday Jan 14th. - B&N Fundraiser Book Fair: Come and get your gifts wrapped by NP3 students, where all donations go directly to students attending the DC/NYC trip. You can also buy books, mention NP3 and we will get a portion of those sales, too. NP3 will be at B&N in Natomas Dec 17- Dec 21 1:30-10:00pm. Note: if you are attending the DC/NYC trip and would like to sign up for this fundraiser, see Ms. Silas.
- Health Unit: All 7th and 8th graders will be participating in a health unit based on the California Healthy Youth Act requirements during PE the first two weeks of 3rd quarter. - Multicultural Fair: NP3 Elementary is hosting a Multicultural Festival Fri Jan 25 5:30-7:30pm. Performers welcome! - Sock Drive: The Service Project Leaders action team is running a sock drive Jan 14-Feb 1. They are collecting unused warm/winter socks of all sizes that will be donated to Sacramento's Loaves and Fishes. Collection bags will be in each Advisory and in the front office. - ATS Summer Program: Are you interested in getting a taste of the college experience? Academic Talent Search (ATS) offers 4th-9th graders exciting summer courses at Sacramento State that you pick for yourself! Choose from classes like All the World's a Stage, Algebra 1, LEGO Robotics, Neuropsychology, Video Game Development, and many others. To join, you MUST take the ATS qualifying exam. The test takes an hour and there is no pass or fail, so there's no need to stress. The exam is held at NP3 Middle Feb 1 1:35pm in room M109. All sign-up forms must be returned to your student's counselor by Fri Jan 25. Please bring fees day of. - Run for Rhett: NP3's Run for Rhett running club invites you to join! Students may join by enrolling in the running enrichment and/or after school club. Enrichment begins Jan and mandatory after school training sessions occur from 3-4 pm beginning in March. Student participants will join a 5K race Apr 28. - Winter Break: There is no school Dec 22-Jan 6. Jan 7 will be our first day back to school and it is a minimum day.
- Yearbooks: Yearbooks are for sale for $23! Purchase online at Balfour.com or turn in an order form and check made out to NP3 Boosters (to Advisory teacher). Prices increase Dec 31.
- Pizza Sales: 7th grade is raising money for their college field trip! Pizza will be for sale after school on the following dates: 1/10, 1/17 & 1/24. Slices will be available for $1 and drinks will be for sale as well.
- Movie Night: Harry Potter Club is hosting an event! Come to our PJ party movie event, where we will watch the first Fantastic Beasts movie Fri Jan 18 from 3:10-5:30pm in Mrs. Carey's room M110. You can bring PJs to wear and one stuffed animal or blanket to enhance your movie experience. Entrance fee is $1 a person. Popcorn will be served at the event. Students planning on attending the event can drop their item off at Mrs. Carey's room before school or during snack break.
