MAFEPD
MS Association of Federal Education Program Directors
Letter from the President
Dear Colleagues,
Congratulations on making it through the 2019-2020 school year! Funny how that sentence seems to suggest it is time for a break or at least for things to slow down. In Federal Program Departments across the state this is one of our busiest times of year.
Just a few reminders, the FY20 CFPA is due in MCAPS June 14, 2019, Private school equitable services plans and written affirmations were due in MCAPS May 31, 2019 and MSIS uploads are due ten days after your student’s last day, don’t forget to finalize EL, homeless, foster and immigrant data before the deadline.
The MAFEPD conference is less than a month away! We have three incredible keynote speakers for you, Dr. Steve Constantino who is internationally recognized for his work in family engagement, Dr. Adloph Brown who is a leader in equity and diversity, and Mr. Clark Flatt who is a leader in the area of youth suicide awareness and prevention. You can preview more information on each of these gentlemen at mafepd.org. We have also posted a tentative schedule and list of session topics. Be advised the program is still being adjusted. If you have not registered for the conference, please do so and we encourage you to bring Title I principals. Several sessions are being planned to help principals navigate through the requirements of Federal Programs.
I hope you have a successful close of school and congratulations to all the graduates across the state.
See you at MAFEPD!
Sincerely,
Frank Catchings, Ph.D.
