Athletics
Golf: The final match of the season is hosted by CCMS/NCMS at Whispering Pines Golf Club. Start time 3:30pm.
Football: Away vs Southern Middle at Pinecrest High School. Start time 6:00pm. Come out to support the football team! Tickets are $4.00 per adult and $2.00 per student. Concessions will be open as well! 8th grade football players from both teams will be recognized.
Cross Country: The Post Season Invitational will be hosted @ SJPII. Siblings are welcome! Start time 4:00pm. This will be the final cross country meet of the season.
Documentation:
If your child is interested in trying out for a winter sport (boys or girls basketball, wrestling, girls volleyball, or boys soccer), please create or verify your Planet HS account to make sure all documentation is up to date. This must be completed and approved by Mr. Willms in order for your child to play.
Basketball:
Coach Simpson and Coach Eury will be hosting another optional open gym for any students who are seriously considering trying out for basketball. The open gym's purpose is to provide conditioning for the upcoming tryouts in November. These will take place on Monday, 11/1 (boys only) and Thursday, 11/4 (girls only). Students will need to be picked up by 5:00pm. Please have your child bring a change of clothes, sneakers, their water bottle, and a snack. Your child must have their Planet HS account active and approved to join the open gym sessions!
The signup for basketball tryouts remains outside the cafeteria. The cutoff for signing up for tryouts is 11/1. Tryouts will be after school on 11/8, 11/9, and 11/10. The first game is scheduled for Monday, 11/22 @ Crain's Creek Middle School starting at 4pm.
Wrestling:
The signup for wrestling is still posted outside the doors near the gymnasium. The cutoff for signing up wrestling will be Tuesday, 10/27. Wrestling practice will begin on Monday, 11/1 in the cafeteria from 3:00pm - 5:30pm. There are no tryouts for wrestling either, meaning students who sign up to wrestle will be a part of the team! The first match is scheduled for Wednesday, 11/17 here @ West Pine Middle starting at 4pm.
- Final grades will be viewable in PowerSchool. If you would like a paper copy, they will be available November 2nd between 9:30am-4pm at the front desk. Conference requests can be made through your child's homeroom teacher for that day. Students not stopping by on November 2nd will receive their paper copy of the report card on Wednesday, November 3rd.

School Information
Not Feeling Well...
- Students who are not feeling well are asked to stay home. Staying home when sick is essential to keeping infections out of school and preventing spread to others.
Cell Phones
- Students are reminded each morning during announcements to turn off their cell phones and place them in their book bags. If there is an emergency and your child needs to contact you, he/she is allowed to come to the office to call. Same goes for you. Please call the office and we will be sure to get the message to your child.
Reminders for afternoon dismissal
- School dismisses at 3pm. 6th graders are picked up at the front of the school. 7th graders are picked up by the baseball field (enter at West Pine Elementary School). 8th graders are picked up in the back parking lot (staff parking area). Please note: once the 8th grade afternoon carline is at capacity, those cars will be asked to remain in the regular line until a staff member directs them to the back of the school.
- 8th grade cars are asked to use their right turn signal to alert the staff member on duty directing traffic that you are turning right.
- 6th/8th carline: All cars are asked to stay close to the curb in the bend near the split in the road so that the 8th grade cars have enough clearance to exit safely.
Late Arrivals
- Students arriving after 8am must sign in at the front office. A parent/guardian must accompany the student to the front door and ring bell for assistance.
Early Dismissals
- We understand that doctor/dental appointments and other appointments cannot be avoided. However, in order to protect the instructional time and limit class disruptions, no early dismissals will be allowed after 2:30pm. Students will not be called out of class early until the parent/guardian arrives to school. Any changes to your child's afternoon ride home must be shared with our office staff prior to 2:30pm.
Instructional Fees
- School fees are $40 (technology and instructional). There may be additional fees for encore classes. Those fees can be paid online, or your child can bring in to school and one of our staff members will receipt. Families may submit a request for waiver or reduction of fees form if they feel they cannot afford to pay these fees. This form is available through our bookkeeper, Ms. Campos.
Face Coverings
- Students, staff and visitors are required to wear face coverings in the building. No face coverings are required while outside. The BOE will revisit this decision at the 10/4 board work session. Face coverings must be worn from the top of the nose to the chin.
Student Medication
- All medication, prescription and/or over-the-counter drugs that parents want given at school must have a physician order accompanying the medication to school. The Request for Medication Administration in School Form (Spanish) must be filled out in its entirety, on one sheet of paper with the front page being the physician order, and the back, the parent authorization. Medication of any type must be brought to school by the parent/guardian in the original container with the Request form Medication Administration at School completed by the physician and the parent/guardian.
