Believe it or not, today marks the 88th day of school which means we will hit the mid-year point on Wednesday. Like they always say, "time flies when you are having fun!"


While we are still enjoying a New England winter, the days are steadily getting longer and Groundhog Day is right around the corner. An early spring and more time outside will be a welcome change for many. Fingers crossed!


In this edition, you will find reminders about morning drop-off, food pantry and clothing donations, lunch service, and student artwork from around the building. You will also find information regarding report cards which will be sent out next week.

Woodward’s February Spirit Day!

On Friday, February 4th, all second and third graders are invited to wear their hair as crazy as can be, or wear a crazy hat!


Woodward's CARE theme for the month of February is generosity. In the spirit of giving, we are asking students to bring in a nonperishable item with a kind note attached to donate to the Southborough Food Pantry. To show our gratitude, all students will have a homework pass for Thursday, February 3! If you are unable to donate a nonperishable item at this time, please consider sending in a note or Valentine that will be delivered to the Food Pantry expressing appreciation for the work they do for the Southborough Community.



The food pantry is requesting the following items:

Children’s Toothpaste, Children’s Shampoo, Peanut butter Sandwich Crackers and Cookies.


As always, the Food Pantry appreciates any and all donations!

Parent Drop Off Reminder

With more families choosing to drive their students to school, we have noticed a longer backup at morning drop-off. Please be patient and DO NOT pass other vehicles who are dropping off their students. Doing so poses a huge safety risk. Please also have your student ready to exit the vehicle before reaching the designated drop-off area.


A friendly reminder, our drop-off window begins at 8:40am and goes until 8:55am. Please contact the office with any questions you may have.

Cold Weather Clothing Remidner

Weather permitting, we will make every effort to go outside to enjoy the fresh air. Please be sure to send your child to school with appropriate gear every day (sweatshirt, coat, jacket, hat, gloves, etc). When snow is on the ground, stundents must be in boots and snow pants to enjoy it. Students with sneakers will remain on the blacktop during outdoor recess when we have snow.

Report Cards

Report cards will be distributed electronically on the afternoon of Friday, February 4th. If you do not receive your child's report card through email by 5:00 pm on the afternoon of Friday, February 4th, or if you would prefer a paper copy, please contact your child's teacher.

Chromebook Reminder

Please be sure that your child comes to school each day with their Chromebook fully charged. We have a very limited number of extra chargers and if multiple students need a charge, they are missing out on valuable work time.
