Fall expectations parent survey
Dear Families,
A survey is now available for you to provide your input regarding expectations for the start of the 2020-2021 school year. The Orlando Science Schools System is working hard to prepare for many eventualities in the coming weeks and understand that no plan will be complete without the invaluable input of our families.
Please click on the link below to provide your responses. The survey will remain open until Friday, June 5th.
Picking up student belongings
Beginning next Tuesday, May 26th, families may start pick up the belongings for their K-5 students (sixth grade students did not leave behind personal items). Over the past few weeks, our teachers have been organizing their classrooms and placing student belongings in individual bags. If you would like to pick up your student’s belongings from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., within the dates of Tuesday, May 26th to Friday, May 29th, please use the form below to sign up for a time slot.
- If you have more than one student, please use the “Comment” section to list their names and teacher. Only one time slot per family should be chosen. This is only for students in grades K-5.
- Your student’s items will be placed in a bag and brought to your car.
- Items will be picked up at the back of the building you sign up for. The car loop and lanes will be set up similar to dismissal. No families or students will be permitted to enter the building.
In many cases, items left behind by students are disposable (paper, partially used supplies, etc.). If you would rather not come and pick up the items, please simply do not complete the form below. All items that are not picked up and reusable, will be either donated or disposed of properly.

poetry for our planet
During the third quarter, our students wrote and submitted poetry for our school’s poetry book. This has been quite a journey for everyone. This poetry project that started out as a way to communicate to others the importance of taking care of our planet is now part of something bigger. Our students (and the rest of us) are living through history. This collection of poetry is a part of a memorable year. Please share with your families as some of your students may have been the writers!
A lot of the poetry was written by our fifth grade students. This book and this whole poetry project is dedicated to them as they move on to middle school and new adventures. We hope they are inspired to continue to write and work towards their future goals. They are a group of amazingly talented students and we wish them the best!
