Device Collection Directions
May 17-21- Pre- Collection
- Please encourage your students, that if they know they will have a fine (ex- they lost their charger/cable) to go ahead and bring in their payment for the fine. They can stop by the Media Center to pay.
- TEACHERS will need to drop off their device and charging cables during their planning or before school.
Other Important Information:
- Students who you know will not be here for their collection day, please send them to the Media Center to turn in to the Media Center on the 18th and 21st (after the last final that requires them to use it.
**Teachers will also be turning in their Surface between May 17-May 21st (they are being wiped, clean and reimaged this summer).
May 22-24- Collection
Before you bring your class to the Media Center, please make sure every student comes with this link bit.ly/hjcheck18 opened on their device (link is also located on the WBMS homepage).
Step #1- Students enter and go to the left to check in device (pick any line)
Step #2- IF students have fine(s), they are sent to the fine station
* We ask that teachers watch and make sure that their students stay in line and don’t try to leave it early to avoid paying a fine
Step #3- When students are finished, they wait for their teacher/class (out of the way of the entrance)

Summer Learning Opportunities
GOING PAPERLESS WITH MICROSOFT TEAMS
Microsoft Office 365 has become a key resource for many teachers in FCS as they explore ways to provide flexible pacing, just in time instruction, and varied strategies. In an earlier newsletter it was communicated that all students now have access to the newest app, Teams. This summer Instructional Technology is hosting a number of Microsoft Teams training sessions for teachers. This is an ideal time for teachers to get comfortable with this tool, so you can get started with it on the 1st day of school. Teams is a really great alternative to Edmodo. Registration for all courses below is in Edivate in the Instructional Technology catalog.
Microsoft Teams (Office 365 app) has now been enabled for students. Learn how a Class Team can be setup to enable a paperless, collaborative classroom. We will look at how students and teachers can have online discussions, share files, create/submit digital assignments, and join Skype meetings.

Coaching Opportunity @ AHS
Faculty and Staff,
My name is Dan Devine, Athletic Director at Alpharetta High School. As we transition into the summer months our cheerleading program we are in need of a Varsity Competition Coach & a Sideline Cheer Coach. Our student athletes are exemplary both on the field and in the classrooms and we would like to see our cheerleading program continue to flourish in the upcoming school year.
We are seeking knowledgeable county employees who would not only bring value to our program but also model spirit, leadership, passion and sportsmanship to our young athletes. Does this sound like something you might be interested in? If so, I would love the opportunity to speak with you regarding the opportunity to coach at Alpharetta.
Both positions come with supplements provided by the county and can be filled by 2 separate people! If you or someone you know would like to learn more about coaching please contact myself & Katie Arnold (arnoldk@fultonschools.org) who is the director of the cheerleading program. We also accept members of the community as coaches if you know of anyone with sports specific knowledge not currently employed by the county.
Thank you,
Dan Devine
