Civillians in the United states are able to vote for a representive while in rome there is no voting. Also, the United States hold official offices like civil and goverment offices while in Rome there are no goverment offices. United States people have the right to own properties, unfortunately in Rome slaves were property will unlikely chances of freedom. Unfortunately as well, freedman were also slaves but with limited rights. Their children would be born as full Rome citizens. Male citizens have the same rights as the female citizens in both United States and Rome.

In Rome laws were written in stone know as "The Twelve Tables" while in the United States laws are written in a book. In the United States if people go to court it is because they did something bad. Usually what happens is judges make court decitions from trials and evidence while in rome they used to punish people if they did something bad. That meat they weren't very protected while in the United States there is Natural Laws giving every citizen right ti life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.

The punishments for both United States and Rome both depend on what you do. But Rome used more severe punishments that sometimes led to death. In the United States if you comit a really severe crime you go to jail and they might give you a shot that kills you if it is really severe but that is rare. In rome if you comit a severe crime execute alive. If you commit a medium crime in the United States you go to jail for several years. If you comit a medium crime in Rome they could beat you or tell you to leave rome. If you comit a minor crime in the United States depends what you do, you will probably recieve a ticket. If you comit a minor crime in Rome you will have to pay a fine.
