Updates

Hello Families!

Things are moving right along here in our Whitman classrooms! Students have started the first module of our new ELA curriculum, and have taken their beginning of year math tests. Our student safety patrol and recess leaders had their training this week and are ready to get to work supporting their community!

I would love to hear from all of you about what you’d like to see here at Whitman this year! Next week we’ll have our first “Coffee with the Principal.” Please come join me on Thursday, September 22, from either 8:45 - 9:15 or from 2:30 - 3:00, whichever works better in your schedule! Topics for this week include:

  • Creating our new School Site Council and how you can be involved

  • Hearing from families about what your hopes and dreams are for this school year!

I hope to see many of you there! If you can’t make it, feel free to connect with me before or after school or via phone, text, or email.

Sincerely,

Ms. Thompson

It’s Latinx Heritage Month! Here are some resources to explore with your family!

Announcements about School Procedures

1. If you need to pick up your child early for an appointment, we ask that you please do so before 2:45. Pick-ups between 2:45-3:00 will not be allowed except in case of emergency, as students and staff are busy closing out the day at that time.

2. We do not have staff available to supervise the playground after school, so we cannot allow unsupervised students to play on the playground after dismissal. Unsupervised students will be asked to head home. If you are with your child you are more than welcome to bring them to the playground!
