ELA: In reading, students will continue to build on their understanding of living things and their needs. They will develop their research skills by researching a specific tree to learn about its needs and how it supports living things. Students will engage in Science Talks to share their findings. They will use their research to create a tree collage and write an informative writing piece to share information about their specific tree. Math: In math, students will continue to use objects, pictures, and fingers to solve addition and subtraction story problems up to 10. Students will write number sentences and create number bonds to represent a given story problem. When given one part and the whole, students will determine the missing part. Students will begin to see patterns when adding numbers 0 and 1. Science: Students have been introduced to the concept of living and nonliving things. In science, we will be discussing how living things have an established life cycle and change throughout it. Students will be able to describe the changes that plants and animals (butterflies, frogs, and chickens) undergo during their life cycle. |
