Testing Updates

PSAT

On October 14th, the PSAT (8/9) and the PSAT/NMSQT(10/11) will be administered to our students. For the 11th graders, the PSAT/NMSQT is the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. The PSAT is a great primer for the SAT, and even the ACT, but it’s more than just a trial run. PSAT scores are used to identify National Merit Scholars and award merit scholarships. More than 3.4 million high school students (mostly juniors and sophomores) take this nationwide, multiple-choice test every year. Visit https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt-psat-10 for more information.

Also, ALL seniors will participate in a reportable SAT.

Progress Monitoring Assessments

All classes that take an FSA/NGSSS assessment will complete Progress Monitoring Assessments (PMAs) during the course of the school year. The PMAs are designed to be administered towards the end of the quarter; they assess the material that should have been completed up until that point in time according to the district's curriculum pacing guide. Each quarter, the test gets "larger" as it adds additional content and standards. The testing window for PMA #1 is Friday, October 2nd - Thursday, October 15th.

The following courses will take the PMAs:

9th and 10th English
