Oct. 4, 2020
Dear Robert Hunter families,
Thank you for continued patience and support as we once again pivot to a new model of instruction. We enjoyed meeting with many families this week during our information sessions, as we discussed hybrid learning plans for students.
Next week, we welcome back Hybrid Kindergarten and Grade 1 students to our building, and all of our students at Robert Hunter transition to a new schedule. The week of Oct. 5th will look a little different, as we orient all of our hybrid students, and then the schedule will begin to alternate weekly starting Oct. 12th.
We are so excited to see some of our students in person next week! We are ready to welcome them back to the building! Our school’s Pandemic Response Team has been working together to ensure we have procedures in place for a safe opening.
Our virtual learners will continue to receive great instruction, and we love seeing their smiles and enthusiasm for learning on Zoom!
No matter the format for learning that your family has chosen, we are a connected Robert Hunter family!
We are here to ensure our families are clear regarding the district plan and feel supported. We continue to remind you to reach out if you have questions or are in need of help!
Warm Regards,
Mrs. Glaab and Mrs. Braynor

Devices
The district’s new Chromebooks are arriving sooner than expected! As a result, the technology department is working on returning donated devices to families. Your child should not bring a personal device to school but should only bring a district-issued device. Teachers are aware that some children may not have school-issued devices at this time, and all donated devices should be returned shortly! THANK YOU to all families who generously donated your devices during this challenging time!
Arrival/Dismissal
Some notes about arrival and dismissal as we begin hybrid instruction:
Arrival will begin at 8:45, and instruction begins at 8:55. If you are dropping off your child, please do so between 8:45-8:55. For families dropping off their child in the morning, please follow staff members’ directions as you pull up in the drop-off line. Children must exit your vehicle independently from the passenger side. Walkers should meet staff at the “walker door” - the back door by the playground.
Dismissal will be at 1:20. If you are picking up your child, please remain in your vehicle and pull-up into the pick-up line. Please have a sign with your child’s name and homeroom visible. We will be providing car tags to be used after the first day of school.
If you are picking up your child from school, you will need to alert the office via email. Please email your child’s homeroom teacher and our school secretaries Wendy Chambers (wchamber@frsd.k12.nj.us) and Robyn Bennett (rbennett@frsd.k12.nj.us).
If you will be picking up your child every day or on a regular schedule (ex. every Friday) you only need to send one email alerting the office of this request.
If you would like to complete a bus waiver form and opt out of receiving bussing, please alert the main office. Otherwise, if we do not have a pick-up notice, your child will be sent home on the bus.
If you are picking up your child, please send an email to the office first thing in the morning and no later than 9:00 as we will need to plan for a safe and orderly dismissal.

Week of Respect
In the State of New Jersey, the week of October 5-9, 2020 is designated as the Week of Respect. The school counselors of the Flemington-Raritan School District have designed and will be implementing lessons and activities on Counselor Corner to celebrate and promote respect, kindness, and a positive school culture in order to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
This year’s theme is “Stronger Together.” In celebration of the Week of Respect, the counselors have designed a districtwide spirit week encouraging students and staff to dress in certain attire to celebrate the theme and intent of this week.
