IT Upgrade

Next Tuesday, we are finally getting our long-awaited IT upgrade to improve the speed and connectivity of our wifi in school. Please note that there might be short periods of time in the day when our normal methods of communication aren’t working.

Letter from Public Health

You will have seen the letter from Public Health this week. We are aware that there are a number of illnesses that are being transmitted locally, so please remain vigilant for signs of infection in your child. UKHSA advice remains clear that children can continue to attend as normal unless they are unwell and have a high temperature.

Eco Warriors

Eco Warriors are organising a litter pick in the village involving children in Sycamore and Maple after half term. If anyone has a litter picker that we could borrow, we would be very grateful. Eco Warriors have also put up some posters at the entrances to remind parents not to idle their car whilst waiting outside school.

Census Day - 19.1.23

We are having a special census day menu on 19th January 2023. All children in Reception, Y1 and Y2 who have packed lunches will receive a taster portion if they would like one. No need to pre-order these; they will be available on the day.
Big picture

FOSS '100 Club'

Don't forget we have launched our FOSS ‘100 Club’. This is a joint venture between the Monk Fryston PTA and FOSS to raise funds for both organisations – please see the rules email in December. We expect this to be popular and should result in big prizes being awarded each month. Numbers can be purchased from ParentPay now.

School Lunches

Next week we will be on Week 3 of the Spring 1 2023 lunches menu.

Children can decide daily whether they are having a school dinner or packed lunch.

Please ensure you discuss the menu each day with your child so they can decide what they would like to order. Once they know their choices, they will choose this each morning with their teacher during registration.

Each day there are 4 choices, either the hot dinner, hot vegetarian option, jacket potato with a choice of toppings or a sandwich. The sandwich and jacket potato always come with a selection of vegetables/salad on the side and have the full pudding choice for that day.

Packed Lunches - if you are sending grapes in your child's packed lunch, can you please ensure that these are cut in half.

Application for Pupil Absence Form

This form should be completed by the parent/carer and returned to the school as far in advance as possible and preferably preferably with sufficient notice before the first intended day of absence.
