Future Farmers of America
Hamilton FFA was awarded $500.00 by the City Council of Chandler for placing 2nd in the Science Spectacular event that was held February 9th in downtown Chandler. They won for their booth titled “The Science of Chickens”. The students brought the chickens they raised from chicks. They shared information with the public about the life cycle of chickens, chicken breeds, chicken anatomy, eggs and answered MANY questions from children and adults in the community. Students were ve...ry excited to be presented with a check by Kevin Hartke, the mayor of Chandler and have the opportunity to meet Dr. Casteel. Congratulations to Ms. Alicia Gutierrez and her students listed below. #huskyproud #CTE
2019 Arizona All-State Orchestra
Auditions were held for the 2019 Arizona All-State Orchestra. Hamilton orchestra students did well overall, with 6 accepted, and one first alternate. These exceptional musicians will participate in the upcoming festival at NAU, April 11-13. This achievement represents the highest honor an AZ high school musician can earn.

Bravo to the Husky Stringers! #huskyproud
A young and rebuilding Hamilton Microbots robotics team faced a very challenging playing field this past weekend at the AZ FIRST Robotics League Western Regional competition. Battling through network problems, faulty motors, and fine tuning lifting mechanisms, the team ended the competition with 2 wins, 9 losses, and 1 tie.
Considering where the team was, and where they are now, and the competition they faced, they did great and represented not only Hamilton, but also themselves in an exemplary manner:
- They built relationships with other teams
- They exhibited persistence when working through complicated problems and troubleshooting while keeping a cool head under pressure.
- They supported each other when faced with challenges.
- They displayed gracious professionalism when dealing with judges, other teams, and each other.
Well done Huskies! #huskyproud #tradition #integrity #excellence
Early Childhood Education
Early Childhood teacher, Kristine McGettigan worked with her students in her Early Childhood Education 1,2 and 3 classes on the importance of field trips for their future students. They worked on organization of parent chaperones and basic planning that goes into field trips. The group was rewarded by spending the day at Shamrock Farms, seeing the impact that dairies and farms have in our everyday lives. #teachersteachingfurtureteachers #huskyproud #CTE
Econ Challenge Club
A group of Hamilton students from our Econ Challenge Club competed in the Arizona Mayor’s Economics Challenge. 108 teams competed in various divisions at the high school level. The teams needed to demonstrate both Macro and Micro Economic knowledge. This was the first year Hamilton was represented. Our team, composed of freshmen and Sophomores, placed 4th in the State in two different divisions!
Please take a moment and congratulate the following students for a truly outstanding accomplishment.
We Dine Together Comes Through Again!
Few students want to change schools mid-year, but Daniella, a sophomore, came here from El Paso in mid-March. Knowing nobody at Hamilton and moving from a school of 500 to one of more than 4000 students is, to say the least, very intimidating. Thanks to some alert We Dine Together Club members, this new student was able to connect with HHS students who informed her about clubs, activities and goings-on at Hamilton. To top it off, one of the Club members is herself from El Paso, so they had much to discuss. If you are new, or know someone who is new, send them to a We Dine Together Club sponsor, and we'll make sure they never have to eat lunch alone at HHS! Club sponsors: Esther Bateson, Chris Chew, Julianne Haddad, Dee Ladd, Steve Munczek
Hamilton High School’s Quizbowl Team
Hamilton High School’s Quizbowl Team wrapped up another spectacular season by finishing as Arizona Quizbowl State Champions! Students from Hamilton High School competed against some of Arizona’s top high school Quizbowl teams at the ASU Tempe Campus on March 23rd. After finishing at the top of the standings in the Varsity division, the team stormed through the playoffs before facing off against a tough Corona del Sol team. After a tough back-and-forth two game final, the team was crowned as State Champions. Because of their hard work, the Quizbowl team has qualified for the 2019 High School National Championship Tournament (HSNCT) for the third straight year which will take place in Atlanta from May 24th to May 26th. Congratulations to all the team members!
