Classroom Update

Mrs. Woods' fifth grade

The Week In Review

This week in reading and writing, we primarily focused on identifying good resources for our research topics and taking notes from those resources. We will continue this next week and begin to draft our writing to place in our brochures.

In math, we reviewed some key concepts in geometry as well as continued our discussion of answering problem solving tasks in a complete, accurate, organized way (to increase our math communication skills and our credit received on tests/assignments). Next week, we will continue to build on our geometry unit some, but will primarily be focusing on the MAP test during our math time.

Coming Up

Friday, April 19 - Talent Show, Oak Park High School, 7pm

Tuesday, April 23 - Begin MAP testing, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades

Friday, May 24 - Field Day, all day

We are completely out of pencils. We've used the supply sent to us with school supplies at the beginning of the year. If you could donate any #2 pencils, we would be very grateful! Thank you to Mrs. Lamb who has donated two big boxes already!

High Flyers

Our High Flyer this week was Leah Davis. She has personally been trying to improve her classroom focus and has made great gains! She works hard to make wise choices and is a great addition to our classroom discussions!

About Us

We are a very close knit group of energetic and enthusiastic fifth graders. We love to learn, laugh, talk, dance, and sing! Soon we'll be moving on to middle school, but we'll always be part of this family!
