D34 Day!
There are a number of ways that we will be celebrating at Oakland!
- Oakland Spirit Wear Day (you can still wear your favorite hat for hat day!)
- A district wide food drive competition for Open Arms Mission - March 4 - 17
(see below for info on needed items)
We think it would be neat to try and do a GIANT cereal box domino with what we collect around the hallways of Oakland! - Different activities that will be done in-class for both remote and in-person students
- We will be taking pictures of our D34 pride in action and using the hashtags - feel free to have your child make a sign on a paper with something they love our Oakland or District 34 to hold up on zooms or in-person for pictures
- Post pictures you take from home on our Oakland Strong - Navigate Forward! page with Spirit Wear or things you love about Oakland!
We are so PROUD of are district and ALL who are a part of it!

Spring Art Show
In honor of Youth Art Month in Illinois, Mrs. Jerik is working on putting together a VIRTUAL art show for the spring of 2021.
We would like to include at least 1 piece of art from each student in all grades. Students in 3rd through 5th grade should already be publishing work to Artsonia. They have been asked to upload a favorite piece for the art show. We are asking parents/guardians of the Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students to please help your child choose 1 piece of art they created this year and load it into Artsonia under the project: My Favorite Art piece.
If you are not sure how to load a piece of art into Artsonia, using your child’s sketchbook that we sent home, scan the lower QR code with a mobile device and it will take you to a tutorial. Each student should already have an account set up, so you do not need to set up an account. You can use your child’s Artsonia app on their iPads and the QR code at the top of the sketchbook or alphabetic code to sign in, This QR code is also on the back of the sketchbook. Artsonia may prompt you to UPDATE it, please click yes and allow it to update. You should be using version 6.0.24. If it will not allow you access to the camera, please open app settings and toggle them so they are green to allow access while using the Artsonia app.
Thank you so much for your help and support loading their artwork. Please email me directly if you have any questions or need help.
ALL ARTWORK NEEDS TO BE SUBMITTED BY MARCH 19, 2021 (Friday before spring break).
