Learning Targets

Reading and Social Studies - We are finishing The Sign of the Beaver this week. Students have been working hard to find information for our multiple-tier timelines. We've enjoyed using www.infohio.org to organize information for our timelines. I'm working with students in small groups and one-on-one this week as I assess student growth in reading.

A.R. Requirement for the 2nd quarter: Students must read 2 books on his/her level with an 80% accuracy on the Accelerated Reader Quiz - DUE DECEMBER 15th - THIS TUESDAY!

Achieve 3000 - Students do NOT have a homework article this week. One article will be done in class with Mrs. Waggoner and another article will be done in class with Mrs. Riddle.

Writing - Students are studying narrative writing. We are also working on some creative writing in both classes.

Math - In math, we are continuing to work with fractions. This week, we will be multiplying and dividing fractions.

PLEASE, encourage your children to practice their math facts EVERY DAY. Even if it is only for a few minutes. Also, MobyMax login and password information can be found in your child's B.E.E. Binder for their required 15 minutes nightly (or 60 minutes/week).

Science - In science, students have been making several observations of their biodomes. They have been witnessing changes including the start of a mini water cycle and changing of the meal worms. We will have a test on Friday, December 18th, over Chapter 2 Lesson 3 and Chapter 3 lesson 2. We will be wrapping up ecosystems soon.

Upcoming Events

December 15 - TWO A.R. Tests, on reading level, 80% or better - due today
