Fresno State Students Launch Camp for Kids

A group of Fresno State students are working hard to launch a camp this summer for children who have been affected by their parent's cancer. Camp Kesem Fresno State will reach 30 children and their families and your help is needed to make this possible. Candy Cause 2014

Volunteers needed: Over 20

Marketing 188 students are hosting Candy Cause 2014 benefiting the Bulldog Pantry. This event will engage participants in breaking the Guinness World Record for the most people unwrapping a candy simultaneously. Food booths, games, contests, and raffle prizes will also be features of this event. Face painting and pictures with Santa will be offered for $1.00 or for a canned/boxed food item donation. Donated food and other proceeds will support the Bulldog Pantry.

Volunteers are needed to make this event a success! Volunteers will assist in set-up and take-down of decorations, booths, tables; offer assistance at various booths including face-painting, Pictures with Santa, raffle, silent auction; and assist with the Guinness World Record attempt.

Volunteer Hike Day at Sierra Foothill Conservancy

The Sierra Foothill Conservancy is hosting a special hike day for past volunteers who have helped build the trail. Fresno State's partnership with the agency has resulted in over five miles of trail being built during Make a Difference Day, Serving Fresno Day, and Spring into Service.

Agency docents will join hikers to point out wildlife and share the history of the preserve. The guided hike will lead to the Table Top.

The First Tee of Fresno provides young people with character-building and life skills lessons using golf as the platform. Attend the volunteer training to learn more about the organization and be trained to serve as a volunteer. Lunch will be provided at the event which will also include hands-on training activities, and reviewing the organization's mission, vision, and teaching philosophy.

Approximately 130 volunteer positions are available at this event benefiting Toys of Tots.

The race will take place at Christmas Tree Lane and volunteers will assist with packet pickup on the 12th and day of logistics on the 13th.

Volunteers will help package and distribute food to Clovis families at the Salvation Army on Barstow (between Minewawa and Pollasky). About 3 - 4 volunteers are needed for each distribution. The next distribution is scheduled for January 6, 2015.

Each year, the Fresno Madera Continuum of Care (FCMoC) conducts a survey of homeless persons in sheltered and unsheltered locations. Volunteers are needed to conduct surveys and record results. FMCoC and its partners are working to end chronic and Veteran homelessness by 2016. This annual survey is key to reaching this goal.
