John SanGiovanni is a mathematics supervisor for the Howard County Public School System in Maryland. He is a co-author of several mathematics books, an adjunct instructor for multiple Maryland universities and a frequent speaker at both regional and national conferences.
Primary Number Foundations and Fact Fluency
Number concepts and basic facts are foundations for success in mathematics. These foundations are developed in primary grades. This workshop is a 2-part engagement that begins with strategies and approaches to developing early number concepts. The second part of the day examines strategies, instructional approaches, and sequence for developing basic fact recall. Formative assessment will be highlighted throughout the sessions. Resources and activities will be shared.
Outcomes will include:
