Delran Township Schools Student Scientist Shines!
DMS Student competes with the best in the tri-state!
DMS 6th Grader, Jason Croly was recognized during the Middle School Category Award Ceremony as an Honorable Mention winner in Consumer Science, out of 23 entries. His project entitled 'Electrolytes and Where to Find Them' earned him first place in the Delran Middle School Mary B. Chiaccio Science Fair. After attending the Coriell Science Fair at Camden County College, Jason walked away with second place, earning him the coveted spot in the Delaware Valley Science Fair. At age 11, Jason has demonstrated patience and perseverance in presenting to the public and to expert judges.
What's next? Jason and his fellow Science Fair winners from DMS and DHS will participate in the first annual Delran STEM Fair on May 8, 2017
What is the Delaware Valley Science Fair?
Delaware Valley Science Fair is one of the oldest and largest fairs in the country. These fairs, designed as a vehicle for stimulating interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) among students in middle and high school compete from NJ, PA and DE. DVSF provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate their intellectual curiosity and creative problem solving - essential skills for future innovation. Students are awarded, scholarships, cash prizes, and other non-monetary recognition for outstanding work. Over $2,000,000 in awards and scholarships is awarded annually.
