The Year of Acceptance #IBtheDIFFERENCE
Welcome Back Students & Families!
Greetings Walker Families,
Welcome to the 2022-2033 school year! This will be Walker's “Year of Acceptance.” We will work to empower our IB learners to BE THE DIFFERENCE! This theme aligns closely with our IB learner profile traits and aims to help students make connections with their school family and our local and global community.
As you may have heard in the news, Walker earned an A grade! We broke the Walker record for highest number of school grade points ever, with an ASTOUNDING 713 points - the highest amongst Hillsborough County School District middle schools! Students showed excellent proficiency and growth in all subject areas. Congratulations and THANK YOU to our students, staff and parents!
This newsletter includes important information to help you and your student have a smooth start to the school year. Please be sure to take time to check out each portion. I look forward to seeing you on August 8th at Open House and on the first day of school on August 10th at 8:30 am!
Sincerely,
Heather Holloway
Principal/IB Head of School
