Different ways to back up

There are different ways businesses backup their files. Data storage at small companies often involves tape backup systems or external hard drives. These tapes or hard drives should be stored off-site or put in a fireproof safe at night and on weekends. The pluses to doing this are low cost, easy access, and minimal complication. On-site storage has its drawbacks, though. If a disaster hits the office, the backup hard drives or tapes will be destroyed. Physical hard drives and on-site computers servers can fall prey to viruses. Also, employees or outsiders can steal equipment from the office.
