Principal's Message
Thank you for taking a minute to look through the latest MES Newsletter.
In this newsletter, you will find the sign-ups for upcoming fall Parent/Teacher conferences. We received feedback last year that Zoom conferences were beneficial for families, allowed parents to more easily attend and parents did not have to secure childcare to attend.
At the Elementary School, we know that parents also like to get in and see classrooms where their children are learning. In addition, we have our Fall BookFair which allows us to get great books into the hands of our students while supporting our local bookstore- The Bookshelf.
Please know that we are doing our best to accommodate both by offering in-person and Zoom meetings. We ask for your patience and support as we maneuver this process.
Car Line We ask that you are mindful of the neighbors of Madeira Elementary. I have had Madeira residents reach out to me recently sharing that we are blocking their driveways during dropoff/pick up. Please be kind and courteous of those that live around us. Thanks!
Lost and Found With the weather becoming cooler and in order to not have a massive lost clothing pile over the next few weeks, please consider writing your child's name into their sweatshirts/coats. This allows us to get articles of clothing back to their owners.

MES Book Fair Information
We are excited to have our Book Fair back at MES this year, brought to us by Madeira's very own independent bookseller, The Bookshelf. While some conferences may be by Zoom, our Book Fair will be available both in-person and/or virtually. Our students will all have an opportunity to view the books before the event and make a Wish List. I will keep the lists here at MES and we invite you to come by to browse and shop. Your child's Wish List will be available for you to see their favorites. This is also a great opportunity to start that holiday shopping!
For those preferring a virtual shopping experience, we are working with the Bookshelf for a Book Fair purchase option and will follow up with those details next week.
The most exciting part of partnering with The Bookshelf is that they work closely with our local authors and illustrators and spotlight a new book each year. This year's title is Change Sings which will be available to purchase and have personalized and autographed by illustrator, Loren Long.
