Writing to Change the World
Writing a speech is hard work! First we had to choose a brave and bold thesis. Your child might be writing about a problem they see in the world and a solution they envision to inspire change. Maybe your child knows someone who's noteworthy. Others have decided to write about noteworthy places or ideas. The topics may vary but one thing is clear: these writers have opinions that matter!
Students have worked hard to gather and organize evidence to support their thesis. They're trying techniques to directly captivate and address their audience.
3, 2, 1, Blast Off!
Did your child tell you about our mission to space? A few weeks ago we embarked on a mission to explore the planets in our solar system. We trained by watching YouTube clips on astronaut training and life on the International Space Station. We used iPads to gather information about planets, viewed helpful video clips on BrainPop, and surrounded ourselves with incredible books about space. We have just a few weeks before we return to Earth!
