Position Details:
Duties and Roles of the President:
The Authority of the President may vary on the situation, but the President has seven main powers:
- Chief Executive: This power allows you to be in charge of the 15 cabinet departments. You will also be the 'boss' of about 3 million federal employees.
- Chief Diplomat: As our President you will be our director of foreign policy. You will be in charge of creating peaceful agreements with our neighboring countries. The 'Executive Agreement' policy allows you to make agreements with foreign leaders that are not approved by Congress. (This is similar to a treaty).
- Commander In Chief: You will be in charge of the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard with this power. You will also be able to order American soldiers to battle and fight on behalf of all Americans.
- Legislative Leader: This power is a major duty of the President. You must sign bills into laws and create a 'Legislative Agenda' to be given at the annual state of Union Address. This agenda will be used to show your plan for the United States during your terms as President.
- Head Of State: This is a ceremonial role that allows you to represent the United States at special occasions and ceremonies. This role allows you to be the living symbol of the United States.
- Economic Leader: The President deals with many economic issues, such as the Unemployment rate, Inflation, and High Taxes. At the start of his term for President, a plan is allotted to the federal government's budget every year. This plan is approved by Congress and it outlines the government's budget for the year.
- Party Leader: The President is viewed as the leader of their political party (Either Republican, Democratic, or Independent). One requirement of this role is to select the party's national chairperson. Another requirement is to help the party raise money and popularity.
Commander In Chief:
A picture of our incumbent President, Barack Obama, addressing the United States Marine Corps. He will leave this position in January 2016.
Party Leader:
A picture of two of our political parties of the United States (The Republican and Democratic Parties).
Head Of State:
This is a picture of our incumbent President, who is fulfilling one of his roles as the Head of State.

- The annual salary of the President is $400,000 since 2001.
