The RAPP Report
You Never Know???
Spring Brings
I was going to talk about Real Estate but since home prices are stabilizing in most regions and interest rates are at a record low there is not much more to say other than keep your eyes out for opportunities in the marketplace.
Being Spring and walking is what we like to do, I thought you might like to check your neighbourhood walk score. How Walkable is your neighbourhood ?
Another great link is the Recent Price Map for the "hot hoods" in Toronto.
And that leads me to my next tip. May 4th is the Kentucky Derby and I must confess I
always have Derby fever. Churchill Downs, Belmont Park, Hollywood Park and even Woodbine have all started in the last week of April and I can't give you tips for all of them
but for the Kentucky Derby my horse will be ORB, and you can say you heard it here first.
The next tip will be the recipe for the official Derby drink, the Mint Julep. They are great on a fresh Spring day ......but be careful they pack a punch!!
As you may have guessed from my glasses collection I have been to some of the classic races of the last two decades at some of the finest thoroughbred race tracks. They all have their Special drinks here is one of my favorites.....
The KENTUCKY DERBY MINT JULEP
4 fresh mint springs
2 1/2 oz bourbon whiskey
1 tsp powdered sugar
2 tsp water
Muddle mint leaves, powdered sugar, and water in a Collins glass. Fill the glass with shaved or crushed ice and add bourbon. Top with more ice and garnish with a mint sprig. Serve with a straw.
What's Spring without Baseball so here is our own Sports Reporter.
While the Blue Jays didn’t get off to the start many Toronto baseball fans were hoping for, there’s still lots of baseball to be played this summer at Rogers Centre. Toronto will be playing some formidable foes in the coming months. The Jays welcome the World Series Champion Giants for two games starting May 14th. They play nine home games in June and host the defending American League Champion Tigers on Canada Day. Shortly after, Toronto hopes to see the return of their injured all-star shortstop Jose Reyes. We’ll have to see if the Jays heat up along with the weather.
