Re-Enrolling in 4-H

Volunteers should also enroll online as well. As a registered volunteer with 4-H you will be covered under our liability insurance which will act as a secondary insurance in case of an injury during a 4-H sectioned event.
NOTE: 2017 is the year for ALL adult volunteers to be re-screens. More information will be given to volunteers end of April on how to complete this process.

Broiler Project
The primary objective of producing broilers is to optimize growth, so 4-H’ers involved in the broiler project will need to be concerned with the following: housing, brooding, heating, lighting, feeders and waterers, feeds and feeding, and health.
The Pawnee County 4-H Foundation is again providing at no cost 10 birds to any youth who wishes to participate in this project. Additional birds may be purchased in groups of 5 for $7.50 ($1.50 each).

Summer Workshop Volunteers
If you are interested in teaching a summer workshop centered around a 4-H Curriculum area or project contact the Extension Office by May15. High school aged 4-Hers are encouraged to sign up to plan and lead projects for community service or college resume experience!

- For those youth looking to enhance their poultry judging skills or to become familiar with how to evaluate production poultry and eggs.

- This horse show judges school is a must for current judges, aspiring judges, judging team coaches, and youth.
The Nebraska 4-H Horse Show Judging Certification test will be offered at no additional cost for those needing to be re-certified, or desiring to become new 4-H Horse judges.

Merlyn Anderson 4-H Scholarships
Lewiston High School, Wilber-Clatonia High School, Norris High School, Beatrice High School, Freeman High School, Diller/Odell High School, Wymore High School, Meridian High School, Tri-County, Fairbury High School High School, and Home Schoolers in Gage & Jefferson Counties.
Merlyn Anderson a longtime Beatrice resident provided for the scholarship funds for youth involved in 4‑H and interested in pursuing careers in the agricultural area. At a time when women rarely traveled alone, Merlyn flew around the world on military standby several times to visit her husband, Col. Charles A. Anderson a Beatrice Dentist, who introduced 4‑H to South Korea as a way to help families improve their lives after the Korean War.

4-H Clover Chase: A Nebraska 150 Event Starts March 1
Nebraska 4-H, in partnership with the Nebraska 4-H Foundation, is celebrating the Nebraska Statehood 150 with the 4-H Clover Chase!
Between March 1 - August 15, 2017, Nebraska 4-H will be hosting a photo scavenger hunt for all 4-H members. Using an app, participants will complete challenges and submit photo entries on social media using #NE4HChase. After submitting photos and earning 150 points, participants will be eligible to receive a commemorative water bottle from their local Nebraska Extension Office and will be entered into a drawing to win a drone with video capability. The Nebraska Extension Office with the highest percentage of participation wins a free National Youth Science Day kit!
