JANUARY 5 - THE RICHMOND MINUTES
Guide to Everything Richmond
Hello Richmond Families,
Happy New Year! I hope this message finds you well. As many of you are already aware ,I am currently serving as the substitute principal while Richmond’s one and only, Mr. Knaack continues with his recovery. He was here on Thursday for a short visit and the students were absolutely thrilled to hear his voice at morning announcements. I am happy to let you know that he will be returning on January 18th. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with the students and staff at Richmond and will continue to enjoy the days until his return.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Sincerely,
Karen Brice
Substitute Principal

GOOD LUCK TO MRS. NELSON & MS. NAVARETTE
It is with mixed emotions that we say "see you later" to two beloved members of our Richmond Family. Mrs. Nelson, 3rd grade teacher, has taken a new position within AASD and her last day at Richmond will be this Wednesday 1/10. Ms. Navarette, Special education para, has accepted a new role at Caravel Austism Health and her last day with us will be this Friday 1/12. Both Mrs. Nelson and Ms. Navarette have played vital roles in shaping the minds and hearts of our students at Richmond. We are grateful for the positive impact they've had on all of us. We will miss Mrs. Nelson & Mrs. Navarette, but we are excited for the opportunities that lie ahead for both of them. We wish them all the success and happiness in their future endeavors.
WELCOME SOPHIA LODICO TO RICHMOND!
We are pleased to announce that we will be welcoming a new teacher, Ms. Sophia Lodico, to our Richmond family. Ms. Lodico earned her elementary and special education teaching certification from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has been teaching at an elementary school the Madison Metropolitan School District. We are fortunate that she is relocating to the Appleton area and has accepted our 3rd grade position. We are confident that Ms. Lodico's passion for education, teaching experience and her commitment to student success will greatly benefit our school community.
A message from Ms. Lodico:
Hi Richmond! I am so excited to be a rocket! My name is Sophia, and I am the new third grade teacher. I am moving to Appleton from Madison, WI. I have been teaching there since I graduated from UW in the spring. I love to hike and spend time outdoors, hang out with my family, eat ice cream, and read. Here are some things that I can talk endlessly about: Taylor Swift, pasta, Harry Potter, reality tv, and trips to national parks!
