Pacific Sky Family Update
Principal's Weekly Message 10/15 - 10/20
Dear Pacific Sky Families,
We hope you and your family will join us this Thursday, October 19th for STEAM+ Night from 5:30-7:00 pm. During this evening, our STEAM+ teachers will host different activities and stations for you to participate in, and to learn alongside your children! We are looking forward to an evening together that is not only fun but will highlight our incredible STEAM+ program! We will also have food vendors, such as Flippin Pizza. Events like this are brought to you through your support of DMSEF. We hope to see you there!
Also, our Book Fair is coming SOON! Please see below for all the important information and details.
Lastly, please remember to drive slowly and with caution when driving around our neighborhood and in our parking lot. Many of our Pilots walk, scooter, or bike to school and it is important that we keep them safe. Thank you for your support with this.
Always in partnership,
Chelsea Moore, Principal

Please see HERE for our STEAM+ Spotlight with our Science Teacher, Mr. Kodama.
At Pacific Sky, Mr. Kodama collaborates closely with our teachers to inspire students to be curious scientists and analytical engineers who think critically, strive to make sense of their world, and design solutions to relevant real-world problems. Through the use of online simulations and hands-on lab investigations aligned with the Amplify Science curriculum, students explore engaging phenomena and learn the California Next Generation Science Standards.
Please see HERE for our STEAM+ Spotlight in PE with Coach Brand.
The goal of PE at Pac Sky is to provide every child with a positive PE experience, build their confidence, and provide many opportunities for them to work in pairs, teams and individually on physical and social emotional skills (that are connected with sports, games & activities). I strive to help students find their JOYful movement, so they can be physically active for life.
Halloween Happenings at Pacific Sky
Students are welcome to wear costumes to school on Tuesday, 10/31. Because we have limited use in the restrooms, costumes should stay on all day or work over regular clothes to be easily taken off in the classroom. We will have a Halloween Parade on the morning of Tuesday, October 31st. Parents are welcome to attend. The parade will start promptly at 8:15am. After the parade, we kindly ask that all parents exit the front office so that we can secure our gates for the school day. If you are volunteering, please check in at the front office before going to your child's classroom studio.
Costume selection: We ask for your help in the selection of appropriate costumes, and for wise parental judgment in what you allow your child to wear to school on this day. Costumes should be appropriate for all students in the K-6 age range (5–12 years old). Please encourage your child to select a costume reflecting a positive emphasis, such as a storybook character or a humorous or playful depiction of everyday life. Students may not bring toy knives, guns or any weapons, and may not use blood or wear scary masks. In addition, please be cognizant of the diversity within our school community and refrain from selecting a costume that could be offensive to members of our diverse population.
Pacific Sky Candy Donation
Pacific Sky will be collecting leftover Halloween candy beginning November 1st through November 3rd. Please bring any candy donations to the collection bins in the front office. The candy will be collected by a local dental group and sent to active-duty service members. Thank you for your donations!
