HES Library Media Center Newsletter
June 2021
Looking Back on the 2020-21 School Year
We are still looking for Library Media books (from this year and last year) and we are still looking for textbooks. I will be emailing notices soon. Laptops might appear on the notice, but they DO NOT need to be return, unless your student WILL NOT be attending a St. Mary's County Public School next year. If your student is not attending a St. Mary's County Public School and had been provided a laptop sleeve, that will need to be returned as well. We are asking for only Library Media books, textbooks, and any additional novels (if given).
Thank you to the families that took advantage of our curbside drop off for fully Virtual Students on Friday, June 11th. If you were not able to bring the textbooks/materials back to HES, please plan on bringing them on Friday, June18th. You will need to park, come up to the front door and ring the doorbell.
I want to thank my News Crew Ariel, Nicholas, Evan, Nate, Lillyan, Georgia, Jasmine, and Lauren for doing such a great job to keep our Friday Morning News Program going this school year. And I owe a huge THANK YOU to their families for filming and sending in their segments.
I hope that everyone takes a well deserved break from technology of any kind. But I do encourage our students to keep reading over the summer, even on a device. Below I have some great options to help keep reading over the summer a lot of fun.
Public Library Options
The Public Library is once again doing their Summer Reading Program. It runs from June 19th through August 14th! Click on the link below to find out more information. Make sure you also watch the Youtube Video with popular children's musician Mr. Jon explaining what to expect. And check out the picture of me at the bottom in the Summer Reading shirt for this year. I LOVE it, especially because it glows in the dark!!
