Message from Principal Donnelly
On Wednesday, October 28th, at 7:00 pm, I will host a Virtual Parent Forum with updates about reopening Mesa Verde. This event will be broadcast live on our YouTube channel. Logistics about viewing the presentation will be sent to families prior to the forum.
I realize that this is a really difficult time and many feel in limbo as we tackle reopening during this COVID pandemic while maintaining a virtual learning environment for those who chose virtual. If you would like to submit a question in advance, please use this form:
https://forms.gle/otdFYFn61v6T4RQj9
While I may not know the answer to every question, I will do my best to address as many as I can and I will absolutely give out all of the information that I have. There will also be an FAQ after the presentation that will be posted on our website. Please submit your questions by Sunday, October 25.
Attendance Robo Calls
Please understand that we know that the attendance robo calls can be alarming to receive, but we are trying to ensure that teachers and students communicate with each other on missed Zoom classes. We also want to ensure that parents call in absences to the attendance hotline for any missed classes due to medical appointments, illness, etc.
MV Foundation Pledge Drive Starts Today: DID YOU KNOW?
Today kicks off our 2020 ONE WEEK Mesa Verde Foundation Pledge Drive!! Our pledge drive funds many essentials at Mesa Verde including a variety of technology, annual teacher supplies, essential software for online learning and safety and social distancing plans for future on-campus learning among many other things. Parents will have the opportunity to donate during Picture Day this coming Monday (10/26) while waiting for their students, or at any time during the week through 11/2. We accept online payment, or use a credit card/checks made out to the Mesa Verde Foundation while at Picture Day! Thank you in advance for your participation with this crucial fundraising effort. Mesa Verde kids and their teachers appreciate you! https://mvmsfoundation.org/index.html
School Picture Day on Monday
October 26th Gerardy will come to Mesa Verde to take student photos. Time slots based on the student's last name. Please plan to arrive during your scheduled time (below) to assist with traffic flow and reduce parent wait times.
Safety and health protocols will be in place by Gerardy’s team (protocols below) and Mesa Verde’s staff. Students will be screened upon arrival. To minimize congestion, parents must stay in their vehicles along the curb. Students will receive their student IDs and will return to vehicle with a code-specific order form for your student for ordering photos. Student yearbook photos will be handled differently and more communication from the yearbook team is to come. As October 26th is a non-student day for conferences, this will not impact your child's classes. This is voluntary, but if you miss and want to do a makeup session, Gerardy will offer makeup photos at their site.
Be sure to bring an umbrella as the weather calls for rain.
Parent Volunteers needed! Please see information below.

Space is limited!. Please fill out the google form below by 5:00 PM on October 26 to tell us you are interested in the program and will attend a Zoom meeting on October 27th at 7:00 pm. For questions please contact Debjani Bose at mvmscyber@gmail.com.
Parent/Teacher Conferences October 26-30
- Monday, October 26: non-student day, so teachers will conference throughout the day.
- Tuesday-Friday, October 27-30 are regular virtual school days and teachers will make arrangements to schedule conferences as they are able.
What do parents need to do? Just watch for any communication from your child's teacher(s) if they reach out to set up a conference. Respond in a timely manner because scheduling is very challenging.

Attention PTSA Members!
MVMS PTSA families! If you have not already done so, you can pick up your previously purchased membership cards and PQ discount cards at Monday's School Picture Day (10/26)! Every car will be stopped before entering the fire lane, and the PTSA envelopes will be available for pick up. Just let the MVMS staff member know you need to pick up your PTSA cards.
Following picture day, cards will be available for pick during library curbside service, Monday, November 2nd from 2-4 pm.
If you cannot get to MVMS during either of these daytime pick-ups, we will make arrangements for an evening pick up at a local member’s home later.
