Benefits Corner - DECLINATION & ENROLLMENT REMINDER!

Enrollment to waive any of the District's health insurance plans (medical, dental, excess/vision) began June 1st and closes June 30th. As you did last year, you'll need to sign onto the JJ STANIS portal (link below) to decline insurance and be eligible for a declination payment in June 2024.

Please have a scanned copy of your insurance card handy before you begin. Also, please review the attached instructions.

In case you forgot your username, it is your social security number (no dashes).

Effective date: 7/1/2023

The portal address is:

https://services.hi-techhealth.com/JJS/PAGES/SIGNON.SHTML

Please check your SPAM folder for confirmation email from JJ Stanis customer service. If you do not receive an email, please contact Customer Service at 516-465-3900.

If you currently carry the Districts' medical, dental, and excess major medical/vision insurance and DO NOT wish to waive any of the insurances, you do not need to do anything.

If you currently decline a policy and you're looking to pick-up any of our policies, effective July 1st, please print the appropriate application (attached) and send it to me before June 30. Please note, if you are picking up family medical, you must include a copy of all dependent birth certificates and social security cards. In addition, if you are adding a spouse and have been married more than a year, we will need proof of joint financial obligation (can be 1st page of your 2022 joint tax return).

Remember, this is time sensitive!! If you decline in August, your declination check will not be for the full year. Therefore it is important for you to do it in June.

**If you waive your health insurance anytime during the year, it is your responsibility to go onto the JJ Stanis Declination website to decline insurance. Any reminder is a courtesy. Your declination payout at the end of the year will be prorated based on the date of submission.**

If you know someone who does not receive district emails, please print this and pass along.

Thanks!
