Please join us for the second installment of the Fall 2019 H. Wayne Snider Distinguished Guest Lecturer Series, as we host Anshell Boggs, Vice President and Head of Global Risk Management for the NBA.
As a well-respected professional in the Insurance and Risk Management fields with more than twenty-five years of experience, Anshell’s career began at Liberty Mutual Insurance. During his ten-year career at Liberty Mutual, he held a variety of leadership and management positions which allowed him to develop solid skills in the areas of human resources, management, insurance, and risk management.
Anshell later accepted a position in the corporate headquarters at Pep Boys Corporation in their Risk Management department as the Corporate Workers’ Compensation & Safety Manager. Within two years, he was promoted to Director of Risk Management and in seven years built and managed a respected and successful global risk management department. Subsequently, Anshell moved on to hold the primary risk management function at Toys “R” Us, Inc. and was responsible for the company’s Global Risk Management department.
Currently, as Vice President, Head of Global Risk Management for the National Basketball Association, his responsibilities encompass the leadership and management of the League’s (NBA, WNBA, G League, and NBA2K) extensive Global Insurance and Risk Management functions.
In addition to holding several professional designations, Anshell is an active member of numerous organizations, committees, Advisory Boards and has earned his Bachelor of Arts & Master of Business Administration degrees and a Master in Global Sports Management from Georgetown University (‘17).
Anshell aspires to continually seek opportunities that will allow him to utilize his educational background, and personal and professional experiences. His personal passion is to work with organizations that are focused on community development, mentoring opportunities, and educational development.
