Miss Cleasby's 4K News

News for the week of November 5th

Fall Theme

This week we will be starting a fall theme! We will be discussing the changes we see in the weather, plants, and trees in the fall. What do animals do in the fall to get ready for winter? What do our families do around the house to get ready for winter? We will be going on a nature walk this week. We will see the leaves falling and hear them crunching under our feet. We will be making leaf art projects and sorting and graphing leaves by color.

Jolly Phonics

Our Jolly Phonics letter of the week is "N". The action for the letter "N" is to pretend to be an airplane, with your arms out like wings, and say "nnnnnnn". We have learned the first 5 letters in the Jolly Phonics sequence (S, A, T, I, P, N). Please help your child look and listen for these letters and letter sounds in different words. We will soon begin to introduce the idea of 3 letter word building with these letters. See below for the Jolly Phonics Letter "N" Song"
