Conference Information
6th Grade Intramural Cross Country
Practice will begin on Tuesday, October 12th. Runners will meet in the cafeteria after school, on Tuesday, to meet their coach and walk through protocols, expectations, and routines. Please plan to dress for practice. Parents, your student will be ready to walk home or pick up @ 4:00! Please sign up ASAP, as we need to turn in our participation numbers for trace bibs and t-shirts for the All-Valley Meet on November 4th at Ridgeline High School.

It is important that students who want a yearbook purchase it now because we need to submit our order in December. It is easy to purchase a yearbook. You can either go to the CVSD online portal and pay there or students can come into the office before school or after school to pay their $18.
Please take this opportunity to purchase a yearbook. You will not be disppointed!

UPDATE: If ONE student stays home sick or goes home sick, ALL siblings must go/stay home as well. If ANYONE in the home (parents included) are ill, ALL students must stay home as well.
If your student is out of school for 2 or more days, they will need to follow one of these protocols:- PCR test at school or with a provider
- Provider can diagnose another issue other than COVID for return to school when symptoms have improved
- Student can quarantine away from school for 10 days
No student can return until they have been symptom free for 24 hours.

We want to share with you both school supports and community resources that you can access if your family and/or child is in need. We also want you to know that, new this year, we have included on the back of your child’s student ID badge contact information for crisis and emergencies, such as the 24/7 Regional Crisis Line 1-877-266-1818.
School Hours and Late Start Thursday Information
Arrival -
Students will not be allowed in the school building until 7:45 (8:45 on Thursdays) due to supervision limitations and COVID restrictions. Class begins at 8:10 (9:10 on Thursdays).Dismissal -
Students are to leave school grounds upon dismissal at 2:40 unless they are involved in school sports or other school related after hours activities. If you are picking your child up, we ask that you arrive between 2:40 and 3:00 to lessen the congestion on surrounding streets and in the parking lot.

ACADEMICS
Horizon Middle School Soaring Hawks
Students who earn a minimum of 3.5 GPA for each of the first three quarters of the academic year are eligible to join the Horizon Middle School Soaring Hawks National Junior Honor Society. After each quarter, names of eligible students will be posted and published at school. Students whose names are posted each of the first three quarters are eligible to join Honor Society at an end of the year ceremony. During the ceremony, students receive certificates and medals in recognition of their achievements.
