Wonderful McClure Families
I can not believe that we are ending this school year! One more week and our Marshals will move into the next grade. I know you all are proud of your children's hard work just as we are as well. This year had been one full of adventure and we are so proud of each one of our Marshals and our school family. Your students have grown, filled in gaps of knowledge, persisted on concepts and assignments that were challenging, asked for help and accepted feedback from their teachers in order to improve each day! I am beyond proud of them and the growth they have made this year!
This week will be a full week of fun! We will celebrate all of their hard work from Kinder- 5th Grade! We will watch our Kindergarteners celebrate moving into 1st grade, our Marshal Talent Show participants perform, our 5th Graders will have their final days at elementary school and promote to Middle School and ALL our Marshals will celebrate together on Aloha Day!
This year has been a wonderful year! I am so thankful to be the Principal at The Greatest School On Earth! I have loved every moment of being able to serve you, your students and our school family. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your student's school journey. It is an honor to get to serve the McClure Community.
Jennifer Harrison- McClure Principal
THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL FIELD DAY!
WE APPRECIATE YOU!
5th Grade Farewell Walk
5th Grade Farewell Walk- Friday, May 20th, 2022
This will be our 5th graders last time to walk the halls of McClure Elementary. Our hope is that we make this a memorable event and a time for reflection for our students as we close out their time in elementary school.
Parents of 5th graders are welcome to attend the 5th grade farewell walk. Students will begin lining up for their final walk at 2:15pm. Parents are asked to line the walkway by the front door at this time. The entire campus will also be outside to view the flag ceremony. Parents can join students for photos and to say good-bye afterwards. Students will return to class for regular school dismissal.

Volunteer Background Check
MISD Parent Notification of House Bill 4545 Requirements for STAAR for Grades 3rd-5th
Please be aware that state law requires students in Texas public schools to take the STAAR standardized tests. There is no “opt out” for standardized tests. Failure to complete the required testing will result in 30 hours of tutoring during summer school for each test that is failed or not taken. Students who do not attend school on testing days will be required to make up tests upon their return.
Students must pass the five end-of-course (EOC) exams or an acceptable substitute in order to graduate. A student who does not perform satisfactorily on the STAAR test in no more than two courses may be permitted to graduate if an individual graduation committee determines the student is qualified to do so. By local policy, a school district may also issue a certificate of coursework completion to a student who successfully completes curriculum requirements but who fails the required state assessment tests. (Tex. Educ. Code §§ 28.025(d), .0258; 19 Tex. Admin. Code § 101.3022) Students who do not perform satisfactorily on an EOC assessment must also be provided with accelerated instruction which, again, includes 30 hours during summer school. (Tex. Educ. Code §§ 29.081, .0217)

WANT TO SUBSTITUTE TEACH?
McKinney ISD substitute teachers serve an essential role in our classrooms. They keep the learning moving forward when a teacher can not be in the classroom. At McClure, we are thankful for all of the substitutes that serve our Marshals.
If you have ever considered serving as a substitute, now is a great time to apply! We are looking for people who are committed to the students and families in our district. Substitutes in MISD can choose if they would like to work at only one level campus (elementary, middle, or high) or they can work at campuses across all levels.
Applications are processed on a continuing basis through the fall semester.
For details on the application process and to get started, please visit:
Substitute Opportunities. Substitutes are an important part of the daily operations of the school day.
We truly appreciate our substitutes and are grateful for your contribution to our students and teachers.
