Notes for a New Week
August 28 - September 1
Here we go!
What an exciting day - full of anticipation, last minute additions and adjustments, lots of prayers, and a little less sleep than we need. Like you all, I have a bit of jittery excitement leading up to tomorrow morning. Every "first day" is like none before - ready to reveal new and exciting things and the thrill of our newest Central family members getting to experience the students and families that make our campus such a terrific community.
As I prep for tomorrow, I wanted to pause first and express my heartfelt appreciation for the work you've already done to ensure this year is the best yet. Camp PK/Kinder and Open House were such wonderful events. As one parent said, "Open House at Central is more like a family reunion." Caregivers and extended family members commented time and again about the warm and inviting environment you all created for your students. Our building hasn't ever looked so great - you have poured hours and energy into making spaces our students can't help but be excited about. And their parents? They are even more comfortable leaving their Pirates in our care.
You all have worked tirelessly over the last three weeks making sure your rooms, your lessons, and your hearts are ready for the 900 students who will call Central their home away from home this year. Central staff members - new and old - have worked with such a renewed sense of purpose, ensuring our practices are up to the task of providing the best education possible.
Teams have embraced new members and new ideas, learning from one another and collaborating to create communities within the campus. Your connection and relationships are evident in your laughter, your faces, and your photos.
Thank you. One hundred times over, thank you. I don't have the words to adequately express how grateful I am for all you have done and will do in the days ahead. It is truly an honor to work with the very best educators around and I am blessed to do life with you. Each of you makes unique contributions to our campus and plays a pivotal role in student success. Central is an amazing place because of YOU.
Tomorrow is a GREAT day to be a Pirate!
Love, love, love you all!

Specials Schedule
Please note - there are two tabs on the Sheet, one for this week and one for the remainder of the year. This week will serve as an "orientation" for our students as they visit four of the five Specials classes. See the information below about our House Party and Sliding Ceremony on Friday. Next week, our Specialists will be ready to dive right in to the good stuff!
House Party & Sliding Ceremony - Friday!
Please remember to come all decked out in your House colors on Friday! The excitement you have will carry over to your kiddos. There is already such a great buzz about the House System; Friday will be an incredible day!
Our Specialists offered to handle sliding for all grade levels during Specials. Please walk all students to the PK play area, where we will greet them and begin (quickly) sliding them all during their assigned Specials times. Please pick your class up from the sliding ceremony at the conclusion of your conference time.
As we slide your kiddos, we will record the House assignment for each student and will work on distributing student lanyards to your classes ASAP.
