Do's and Don'ts of a Job Interview
By: Selina Kim
Job Interview Attire
Do's: When you are thinking of what to wear to a job interview you should think of business attire. Business attire for men consists of button ups, dress slacks, blazers, ties, business suits, and dress shoes. Business attire for women consists of blouses, slacks, business pantsuits, skirts, business dresses, blazers, sweaters/cardigans, and dress shoes. Makeup should also look very natural.
Don'ts: Things you should not wear to an interview for ladies are flashy dresses, really short skirts, tank-tops, shorts, ripped jeans, and crop tops. Basically, women should wear things that cover them up. For men, you shouldn't wear t-shirts, jeans, sneakers, and flashy ties. Men should dress to impress, don't go casual!
Job Interview Behavior
Do's: Always use your manners! Be sure to be polite and make eye contact at all times. Always shake the interviewer's hand. Be sure to be honest with the interviewer. Be sure to be the best person you can be!
Don'ts: Do not catch an attitude with the interviewer! Try your best not to be obnoxious. Don't lie about anything, honesty is the best policy! Don't fidget or put your hands in your pockets. It makes you seem unprofessional and nervous. Last but not least do not arrive late! It makes you seem like you aren't priortizing this job.
