General information
- We are also hosting a make and take holiday craft ornament project event on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at all lunches.
- Please talk to Mrs. Justice (justicet@sherrard.us) or Ms. Bennin (benninj@sherrard.us) if you have any questions.
- Due to the high volume of Chromebook repairs, we will only give out a loaner for students who left their Chromebook at home or need their Chromebook charged if we have eight or more loaners left. We will always give out loaners for repairs.
- If you find a lost Chromebook, please bring it to the library.
- Teen Advisory Board meets every Friday before school. Everyone is welcome to join!
- The Sherrard public library also has a lot of December Events.
The Downstairs Girl by Stacey Lee
Set in the 1890s in Atlanta, Georgia, this historical fiction novel follows Jo Kuan, who works for a cruel man by day, and secretly writes an advice column. However, when she writes about race, everyone starts trying to figure out who she is. Can she keep her secrets? Read to find out.
Fighting for the Forest by P. O'Connell Pearson
During the Great Depression FDR got a lot of people back to work through public work programs. One of the programs was the Civilian Conservation Corps - this nonfiction volume tells their story.
Becoming Beatriz by Tami Charles
Beatriz's brother is killed by a rival gang on the day of her quinceanera, and she has to decide what she wants out of her life in this novel set in the 1980s.

Focus Fiction Section: Science Fiction
Science Fiction refers to fiction that is set in a future world where scientific innovation of one kind or another has altered the world forever. Sometimes the stories are set in alternate realities or in deep space, but there is often adventure in this genre. Check out a book from the display, or look for the label.

This Gale database is a great choice for articles on a wide variety of topics, and can be searched at the same time Opposing Viewpoints is being searched. It has a lot of articles on current issues from different countries, as well as information on different countries. Use the link here for instructions on getting to the databases.
