A Busy Month Indeed!
October 2017
The Wild Wild West Book Fair Rode into the Library
All us cowpokes had a rootin' tootin' good time at the Wild Wild West Book Fair this month. There was a great selection of books and "stuff" and our volunteers did a great job manning the register!
Students especially enjoyed the Guess How Many jar and the Most Wanted Teacher board. It was fun watching them try to figure out who was behind the bandanas and cowboy hats

Pumpkinpaloooza Hits the Library
The 2nd Annual Pumpkinpalooooza brought out some great pumpkin characters! Students decorated pumpkins as book, movie, or TV characters. Everyone got a small prize for entering and winners won a Halloween Pez and some candy!

Scaredy Cats Hear Scary Stories on Halloween!
About 25 students signed up for Scaredy Cats, a read-aloud time on Halloween morning. Mrs. Shaw read a variety of scary stories to get everyone in the Halloween mood!
Let's Collaborate!
Mrs. Shaw teamed up with Mrs. Schrader and Ms. Mosher on a couple of collaborations. Mrs. Schrader and Mrs. Shaw tag teamed on nonfiction booktalks early in October and then Mrs. Shaw read scary stories to Schrader's classes near Halloween. A couple of these stories were great exercises for the students to try and guess the ending before it happened!
Ms. Mosher's classes researched the Scientific Revolution and learned about Galileo, Copernicus, William Harvey and others who made great advances in science and theories about the universe and how the body works.
