Dear KES families,

Happy Thursday and hope this finds you well! We have a ton of important information below so make sure you check out the rest of our newsletter!

Cold weather is upon us so please make sure that your student comes to us with warm clothing, hats, gloves, and jackets.

Just as another friendly reminder, we ask that if your child is exhibiting ANY of the following symptoms that you keep them home to avoid further spread:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

If your child has tested positive for Covid-19, please contact our school nurse, Tracey Higgs (, or our sub nurse, Jackie Leight ( If you need to contact our school after school hours or on weekends for a positive Covid result, please contact This is also linked below. Staff will provide missed school work for our students so please reach out to your child's homeroom teachers for any materials needed for pick-up.

MAKO Covid-19 In School Testing

The following link is what Parents need to register for to give permission for schools to test your child for Covid-19 in the event they are showing symptoms and you would like this test performed conveniently at school. Information was previously emailed to the District regarding the specifics of this testing. Kennard Elementary's Link to register is:

Please note that our School Nurse at school is available for questions. Students are that are experiencing signs & symptoms affiliated with Covid-19 are screened and parents will be contacted to pick up their student if there is the need to quarantine. We thank you for your understanding as everyone's health and safety is our main concern.

Students need to remember their own water bottles daily! We are still not able to use our water fountains, only the bottle fill up stations at this time.

Please remind your child to check our Lost & Found in the Cafeteria! There are many coats and items on there that are necessary for going outside on their breaks!

Morning Math Opportunity!

Morning math will be available next week from 8:35-9:00 each day. Students are welcome to drop in as needed for homework help, or to develop a better understanding of current math topics. Contact Mrs. Phillips if you have any questions at
