February 25, 2022

Dear Cedar Grove Families,

We are happy to share that our first Spirit Night will be Tuesday, March 1 at Manhattan Pizza, 23221 Stringtown Road, Clarksburg, MD. Cedar Grove will receive donations equal to 20% of your food and drink orders and applies to dining in, carry out, or delivery. Although the in store time is set from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., Manhattan Pizza will honor our fundraising efforts all day. We hope you will consider supporting our first Spirit Night and enjoy a lunch or dinner while helping to raise money for our school programs. Don't forget to mention the name of our school!

Parents of 5th graders, the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) science assessment, MISA, will take place the mornings of March 14 and 15 from 9:30-11:45 a.m. Please make sure your child attends school on these days, is well-rested, and arrives to school on time. Thank you.

The Damascus HS Drama Club proudly presents Disney’s Little Mermaid. Performances are at 7:00 p.m. on Friday March 4th, Saturday March 5th, Friday March 11th, and Saturday March 12th. We also have a matinee on Saturday March 12th at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $7.00 for students and senior citizens, and $10.00 for adults. Ticket sales begin 45 minutes before each show in the auditorium lobby. Come out and support the performing arts at Damascus HS!

Singing Masks & KN95 Update for Music Class & Chorus

Well-fitting KN95 masks may substitute for the singing masks. We encourage your child to wear either their MCPS issued KN95 or a KN95 from home on the day they have music class and Chorus. If students are not wearing a KN95 mask on their music and chorus days, they will change into their MCPS singing mask for music and chorus. We are sooo excited to start singing again!

Submit Your Child's Jokes for the Morning News Show!

It's back! Starting in mid-March with our next crew, we will have a joke column on the morning news show and we need your jokes! Please fill out this form and submit your jokes! We can't wait to make each other laugh first thing in the morning!
