Riding the Bus in 2019-2020?
Hello ACMA parents and soon to be ACMA parents!
Can you believe that it's already time to start thinking about NEXT school year? Well, at least it is for transportation!
This is our yearly request regarding your transportation needs for your student for the 2019/2020 school year. Like all things this year, transportation will be a little different due to our move to our temporary location. The routing department is feverishly working towards the best options for our students and I am told that bussing will be different than it has been for us. So, you may notice that stops, times, and other important information might have changed when you get routing information - typically in August.
With that in mind, it is VERY IMPORTANT that you complete this request (even if you don't need a bus) so that I can give the transportation department the most accurate information as of right now. If you are planning to move over the summer, please use your current information, you can update the address with me a week before the move. Please keep in mind that changes made can take up to 10 business days during "peak times". All routing information will be taken from this questionnaire, please read and answer carefully. Only one response per email is allowed, if you have multiple students you will need to use a different email address for each student or contact me directly either by email (maria_iverson@beaverton.k12.or.us) with the subject line as 2019/2020 TRANSPORTATION or by phone at 503-356-3670 ext 0. If you have any questions please reach out to me. THIS IS TIME SENSITIVE so please submit your response by May 20th.
Please note: If you do not respond to the questionnaire I will assume that you DO NOT need transportation for next year.

AVID Volunteer Tutors Needed!
AVID=Advancement Via Individual Determination
The Beaverton AVID Program teaches students the skills and behaviors necessary for academic success in high school, college and beyond.
· AVID volunteers (we call them 'tutors') work with small groups of students under the supervision of a teacher.
· Volunteers are trained to use specific strategies that help develop students’ critical thinking, literacy, and math skills.
· Volunteers are needed mainly on Tuesdays & Thursdays, and times vary depending on the school and volunteer's availability.
· Training and ongoing support provided.
· Community or Parent Volunteer Application and Background Check required.

Back-to-School Reminders
The first day of school for the 2019-2020 school year is Tuesday, September 3, 2019. More information will be published in the Back-to-School Packet in early August.
Online Enrollment Verification
Online Enrollment Verification will be available online starting August 15, 2019
BSD parents and guardians have the ability to verify their child(ren)'s enrollment information through the parent portal, ParentVUE. This annual paper process was formerly a part of the Back to School packet that was brought home to parents/guardians to review, update and return to the office. Verification of enrollments can now be completed online each year. Feel free to watch a helpful video to help you through the process.

Important Dates for 2019-2020 School Year
Due to budget cuts the District Calendar has been updated for the 2019-2020 school year (see picture below).
Because of this change ACMA has made date adjustments to our ACMA Day & Back To School Night. Here are the new dates:
- Monday, August 19th - ACMA Day (school photos, online verification, fee payments, collect class schedule) 7:30am thru 4:30pm
- Thursday, August 29th - Back-To-School Night/PTO Ice Cream Social 6:00pm
- Tuesday, September 3rd - First Day for ALL NEW STUDENTS TO ACMA only.
- Wednesday, September 4th - First Day of School for ALL ACMA Students.
