Claires Court Bulletin

As we draw nearer to Christmas and the children’s (and the staff’s!) excitement grows, it has been lovely to see so many of you have contributed to the Link Foundation by preparing a shoebox full of goodies for local children less fortunate than our own.

There is now very little room around the base our Christmas tree in the reception hall! Thank you for your generosity and for supporting such a worthwhile cause.

We were treated to a musical assembly this morning by the choir, the orchestra and some soloists. There was a vast array of talents on display and it made for a very Christmassy end to the week. I would like to thank all the boys who took part in this display. The pupils, the staff and a number of our parents were most impressed.

I have been edging my way down to our Pre-Prep area this week even more than I would normally do hoping to get an invite to some of the seasonal parties and festivities that tend to happen in the last few days of term with our younger pupils - no invites yet but I remain hopeful!!! Our Reception and Year 1 boys in particular have been working very hard to decorate their classrooms, and they certainly look very colourful.

It would seem that as a School we have not escaped the dreaded colds and bugs that rear their head at this time of year. Please ensure that you wrap up your sons to keep them warm. I am more than happy for boys to wear beanie hats at break times even if they are not the Claires Court branded ones, especially if the boys have just been swimming. I am also insisting that boys do not go outside during break unless they have jumpers on and preferably jackets as well.

I hope to see as many of you as possible at Art on the Street tomorrow just outside the Wilkinsons store in Maidenhead from approx. 12.30 onwards. This is where our dramatists and musicians perform for our local community. It always proves to be lots of fun.

I hope you all enjoy a super weekend.

Justin Spanswick

The closure of one part or all of the School is a rare event, but as winter is now approaching and the weather is getting colder, we would like to remind parents that full guidance is available on the School website.

SnowFlow Cascades have already been sent home to all those who have returned their details. Parents are reminded to check the School website’s homepage for updated information during any period of bad weather.
