The Tonasket School District is currently looking to fill a 5th Grade teacher position starting in the 2021/22 school year.

5th Grade Teacher

DEPARTMENT: Elementary School

REPORTS TO: Elementary Principal

WORK DAYS: Full time, school year


  1. Teach 5th grade curriculum and related subjects at the elementary school.
  2. Share in total school responsibilities for working with students.
  3. Active PLC member.
  4. Commitment to meeting the needs of each and every student.
  5. Demonstrate professional behaviors in action and appearance at all times.
  6. Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  7. Other duties as assigned.


  • Ability to communicate and interact with parents, students and coworkers.
  • Commitment to meeting the goals of ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act).
  • Experience teaching math, science, writing and reading.
  • Ability to design and deliver rigorous and engaging learning opportunities for students.


  • Experience teaching at the elementary level
  • Ability to grow professionally as needed
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Willingness to follow adopted processes, procedures and curriculum


Must have valid Washington State certification with appropriate endorsements to meet the need of the position.


  • Successful clearance of the FBI and Washington State Patrol fingerprint background check.

  • Successful Washington State Sexual Misconduct clearance.

  • Completion of Federal I-9, Employment Verification Eligibility form.
