We have some pretty amazing custodians on our campus. Be sure to thank Silvia, Maria, Brenda, and Josephina for all their hard work! Let's shower them with love and let them know how much they are appreciated.

Last Day of 1st Nine Weeks, End of Grading Period: October 5th

Spooky Science Night, Thursday, October 20th, 6-7pm

We will be hosting Spooky Science Night for our students who would love to show a fun science demonstration or experiment to others. We will host in the CES Bus Loop (outside, if weather permits). Parents can back their cars in and we will use trunks/tailgates to display the science experiment. Students are welcome to wear costumes. If you are showing off a demonstration, please bring candy to hand out to others as they pass by! We will conclude the evening with a pumpkin launch! We hope you can join us!


Spooky Science Ideas:


“When absent, a note from the guardian and/or doctor must be provided within 5 days of returning to school to qualify as an excused absence.” Please make sure you are sending in a note with your child when they are absent. You can also email Kelly Dollar (Attendance Secretary) directly.

Students must be in school by 10:00am to be counted "Present".

Walk-A-Thon - October 28th

WAT preparations are in full swing. If you're new to Curington, this is our biggest event of the year! We depend on parent support through pledges, ticket purchases and volunteering to make it a success. It's a great, family friendly event, so save the date and we hope to see you there!

Student Council - Leadership Training

Thank you Brandi Quinn and Jenn Long of Phyllis Browning Realtors for helping sponsor our Student Council students as they attended Leadership Training hosted by Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association. Students were given training on how to be leaders at school and help support others on campus. Thank you also to PTO for helping purchase t-shirts!

Dad's on Duty (Watch Dogs):

Dad's on Duty is now LIVE. This is an opportunity for dads to join us first thing in the morning, any day, and help with morning drop-off, cafeteria help, hallway patrol, back playground support, etc. This will run from 7:00-8:00am. You must have a background check completed through Boerne ISD. Once complete, simply sign-up and show up on the scheduled date at the front office. Please bring your photo ID and we will go from there. We're excited about this new opportunity.

Fall Running Club - Coach Hendrix

Open to 3rd-5th graders

Every Tuesday 3:00-3:45pm

It is time again for the Running Club. This spring we are going to run after school on Tuesdays from 3:00-3:45. If the weather is bad, we will still meet, but we will run in the gym. Below is a link to a google form. Please fill out everything on the google form. This will give your child permission to participate and will tell me how your child will get home. I will walk all students to the front of the school at 3:45.

Our goal, like last year is to run in the 5K Turkey Trot here in Boerne. This event takes place on Saturday, November 19. If you and your students are interested, please sign up with the link below. Running the 5K is not a requirement.

CES Cougar Choir - Mrs. Kazenas

Mrs. Kazenas is excited to kick off our CES Cougar Choir!! Choir is opened to any 4th or 5th grade student.

The first rehearsal will be held Thursday, September 8th.

Hound Aces and Rowdy Hounds!

Future Greyhounds are invited to be part of the action! Two unique opportunities for Curington students to support the Greyhounds! Hound Aces are PK-8th graders who will be on the court with the Greyhound Volleyball team and encourage Purple Pride by carrying BHS flags prior to any home game. Rowdy Hounds are PK-5th graders who will be on the field with the Varsity football team and will run through the Dog Tunnel prior to the game. Home games are starting soon- sign up today! At Curington Elementary we love celebrating students birthdays! On the day of your child's birthday, their name will be announced on the morning announcements (weekend birthdays will be celebrated on the Friday before) and they will receive a birthday pencil! Our summer birthdays will be shared during the month of May. If you would like to add your child's name to the marquee for a special birthday announcement, please see the form below.

If you would like to bring a treat for your child's class on their birthday, please make sure all treats are store bought with a nutrition label. This is a BISD procedure which requires an FDA approved label with ingredients and allergens legibly listed.

Bus Information; Where's My Bus Stop? What time is Pick-Up/Drop-Off?

-Bus transportation is available for any BISD student to/from school as long as the student resides two miles or more from the campus.

-When registering for the 22-23 school year, families had the option of selecting whether or not transportation was needed. If you need to make a change, parents will be able to do this starting August 1st.

-Where's My Bus Stop? What time is pick-up/drop-off? All information will go live starting August 1st; Please use the following link:

--PreK/Kinder/1st grade students - must have a parent/guardian at the bus stop to be released.
